HIROKI NAKAMURA Folk Forms Collection

The special event, "HIROKI NAKAMURA Folk Forms Collection" held twice a year at rotating visvim flagship locations is scheduled to take place at F.I.L. Nagoya and visvim in Omotesando this Fall. The event itself will showcase vintage blankets and silver jewelry sourced by Creative Director Hiroki Nakamura himself during his inspiration trips and will also be available for sale. The centerpieces for this event are Navajo blankets from the late 19^th - early 20^th century of which Nakamura himself collects and regards as one of his favorite craft pieces of which he has a special fondness for. The process begins with the raising of the sheep itself, followed by the shaving of the fur, which is then spun into yarn. Each blanket is then handwoven one at a time where the beautiful handiwork reflects the personality and uniqueness of each weaver.
