Taking "the wisdoms of our predecessors" and applying them to today's products. 

I feel I am able to be the most natural and comfortable version of myself when my skin is in contact with natural materials.  The elements of a "good hand feel" and "warmth" would seem like especially important factors for women whose skin sensation is 
more delicate than men.  The cable knit camisole(*1) we made this season with a mawata yarn (a yarn spun from boiled and unraveled silkworm cocoons) is moist, soft and also warms your body without becoming stuffy.  We designed it to have an insert bra so you wouldn't have to wear any additional undergarment.  I wanted to provide relief for our bodies from being constricted for long periods of time and instead wanted to create a feeling of being free and more comfortable.  

I had thought about creating underwear made from natural materials that would feel liberating from before when I discovered the existence of Juban (undergarment for traditional Japanese clothing) and Haramaki (a traditional wrap for your midsection) 
that had already been around for ages as I learned more about the culture of Japanese kimono.  I thought it's so wonderful that "the wisdoms of our predecessors" had been passed down from old times and was able to teach everyone a way to keep their bodies comfortable and prevent it from being cold in their everyday lives.  Since meeting my husband Hiroki, I have been fortunate to discover so many aspects of Japan's culture and traditional lifestyle as they always leave a deep impression with me.  

 I would like to be able to utilize these traditional wisdoms and techniques, so they have a place to function within a more modern lifestyle.  The sports pants(*2) that we made with a wool and silk twill material have a much richer texture than something similar that is made from a synthetic material, all while also being functionally better.  Of course, the fact they are washable is also important.  We would like to continue to share with you, the products we create that can bring a comfort and richness to your everyday lives.
