There are vibrations that can be felt from the steering wheel and accelerator pedal, as well as smells and sounds that come from the engine. It becomes necessary for one to sharpen your five senses and drive while always keeping in mind the current condition of the car. It's not simply just a way to get from point A to point B. Not knowing what will happen and when, where the car may break down and stop from time to time, to provide regular maintenance to the car with your own hands figuring out whether it's this or that, all of this is part of the experience that makes it interesting. These are things you don't have to think about with a new car, but each and every one of these details is what makes driving an old car fun.
VISVIM MOTORS CLUB is a special capsule collection of items including footwear and clothing that you want to wear when you get into that old car. The original concept was born when I began thinking of a collection for a new store that is scheduled to open in Carmel, California at the end of the summer, however the most important thing that I wanted this collection to be was something that could help enhance my experience with driving to make it even more enjoyable. I would like to introduce you to these new products that I have conceptualized while obsessing over all the fine details. I would be very happy if you are able to incorporate these pieces into your lives when you are spending time doing what you love, just like what driving is for myself.
Hiroki Nakamura
An updated version of the original driving shoes that were introduced as part of a visvim collection from 2012. The last has been modified to become a slightly narrower shape that allows for easier pedal work when driving. Reinforcement stitch work has been added to the sole as it tends to peel off from the excessive heat that is emitted from the floor inside the car while driving. Nakamura himself wear tested the shoes in repeat drive sessions to better adjust the design details for this style. These shoes have been functionally enhanced for the driving of older vehicles.
The uppers are an Italian Vegetable Tanned Kangaroo leather that is soft yet durable. Only natural materials are used for the peripheral parts that come into direct contact with your feet, this includes the cork insoles and leather lining. These shoes are highly breathable and permeate moisture which allows for the creation of a highly functional style that is comfortable and can be worn for everyday use as well.
A coverall that uses a special ribbing on the wrists and ankles. The primary fabric is a long staple cotton chino material that has been densely woven and is characterized by a moderate luster and enhanced sturdiness. It has been tailored into a comfortable silhouette that fits a variety of postures and allows for ease of movement, especially the positions your body is in when driving.
