WMV Fall and Winter 2026

When creating products for the WMV collection, we strive to minimize the boundaries between things like age and gender, or dressy versus casual with an aim to create pieces that a wide range of people can enjoy wearing.

A "Harmony" I discovered in Japan

I enjoy wearing menswear and also find workwear to be charming; however, it tends to present a strong image that can feel heavy or serious when worn by a woman, so I chose to make a chambray shirt that incorporated silk. It possesses the characteristic lightness and soft drape that is unique to silk and also presents a luxurious texture that can be paired beautifully with even a dress. It can accommodate a variety of styling options. (*1)

When creating products for the WMV collection, we strive to minimize the boundaries between things like age and gender, or dressy versus casual with an aim to create pieces that a wide range of people can enjoy wearing. I believe that since coming to Japan I have learned to cherish the spirit of "Wa" that can be thought of as a sense of harmony and togetherness, which embraces all without distinction. When living in Japan, I can sense the profound "Harmony" in every aspect of life including the cuisine, the cityscapes, the nature and the demeanor of the people. Perhaps for those who have lived in Japan for most of their lives this is simply something that is so commonplace as a sensibility where it is deeply ingrained and goes completely unnoticed; however, as a foreigner there is something there that stands out to me. It is very special. It leads me to always feel how wonderful it would be if everyone could live together in harmony in this way.
